STARTUP³ Open Call Statistics

The STARTUP³ Open Call is now officially closed after two months with 250 applications from 36 countries to arrive!

These two months the resilience and the spirit of innovation have prevailed and we thank you for believing in your idea, engaging your creativity and trusting us with recognizing your potential.

STARTUP³ Open Call attracted applicants from 36 different countries, including 23 out of 27 countries of the European Union (EU) and most of the eligible countries outside the EU. Out of all Horizon 2020 Eligible Countries and Territories, only 7 of them are marked as “white spots” – Croatia, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro and Slovakia – and given this wide geographical spread, we are thrilled to note the great potential for cross-border deep-tech development. The highest numbers of applications are coming from Serbia, Greece, France and Italy, while the number of covered countries showcases the impact created outside of the consortium-based countries and relevance and importance of the project’s offerings to the whole European ecosystem. At least 17 sectors were covered by the applicants and specifically: Aeronautics, Agriculture, Automotive, Biotechnology, Defence, Electrical and Electronic engineering, food & drink, healthcare, medical devices, postal services, raw materials/metals/minerals, forest economy, space, textiles, tourism and others.

STARTUP³ is a European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme project for supporting deep-tech based innovative market players to uptake opportunities, upgrade performance and upscale their business. AGENSO is participating in this project which involves 7 European partners such as SMEs and public organizations. The project aims to generate, take up, ensure market penetration and further capitalize on the growth and impact potential of profound research by providing access to dynamic and 3-phase across the board growth support framework UPTAKE-UPGRADE-UPSCALE.
