The coordinator of the AccelWater project(Accelerating Water Circularity in Food and Beverage Industrial Areas around Europe), as well as representatives from the Greek industries participating, gave an interview to the Ypaithros Chora newspaper.
Until 2024 (the project's end date) and in the framework of the AccelWater actions, a circular economy system will have been created, from which vegetables and trees in the greater area of Patras will be irrigated from recycled water, thermal and electrical energy will be produced from the dairy industry and brewery by-products, while two high proteinic value super foods will be developed.
Regarding the project, its objectives and the expected outcomes, the newspaper spoke with the following:

The participants in the AccelWater are 18 organizations, while the agrifood industries participating are in Greece, Italy, Spain and Iceland.
The project is funded from the Horizon2020 EU Programme (Grant Agreement No. 958266), begun on November 1st 2020 and its duration is 48 months.
